The Role
We’re seeking a Senior SEM Manager to oversee a portfolio of client accounts and spearhead the continued growth of our client’s PPC department. This role is pivotal in shaping advanced search strategies, optimizing large-scale budgets, and mentoring a team of performance marketers. Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000
Core Responsibilities
Advanced Strategy & Execution
- Serve as the primary strategic lead on complex search tactics, working closely with a PPC Manager to establish and refine ongoing frameworks.
- Oversee mid-tier and high-tier accounts on a daily basis, maximizing efficiency and ROI through continuous optimizations.
- Lead media planning for new accounts, from initial research and budgeting to full-scale campaign launches.
Budget Management & Team Leadership
- Coordinate with leadership to effectively manage large-scale monthly budgets (exceeding $300K), ensuring spending is optimized for maximum ROI.
- Manage the performance and development of direct reports, including Analysts, Coordinators, and Managers, through ongoing training and coaching.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for junior team members, providing constructive feedback and growth pathways.
Campaign Audits & Optimization
- Oversee comprehensive campaign audits, ensuring accurate findings and relevant recommendations are consistently implemented.
- Develop and maintain robust A/B testing frameworks to optimize performance at every stage of the funnel.
- Create and refine internal processes, playbooks, and best practices to maintain operational excellence and deliver top-tier results for clients.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with client success leads to establish North Star Metrics for each client and ensure alignment on performance goals.
- Lead cross-team communication with conversion rate optimization (CRO) and integration teams to drive cohesive, end-to-end marketing strategies.
- Clearly communicate updates and performance insights to internal stakeholders, addressing challenges, sharing wins, and aligning on goals.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Develop and implement strategies for struggling accounts, ensuring best practices are followed and new ideas are tested.
- Maintain regular 1:1 and team meetings to foster a culture of feedback, collaboration, and high performance.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep campaigns at the forefront of paid search innovation.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in Paid Search advertising (Google Ads, Bing, etc.).
- Proven success managing over $300K/month in paid search spend.
- Advanced knowledge of Google Ads, with a track record of high-budget, data-driven campaign strategies.
- 2+ years of agency experience preferred (but not required), demonstrating the ability to thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional English communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to convey insights to a variety of stakeholders.
- Leadership experience, with a passion for mentoring and developing junior team members.
