The Role
We’re seeking a data-driven and strategic Paid Search Manager (SEM Manager) to oversee a portfolio of client accounts and play a key role in scaling our client’s PPC department. The ideal candidate has a passion for developing high-budget paid search campaigns, analyzing data for continuous optimization, and mentoring junior team members to ensure everyone delivers at the highest level. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and a “can-do” mindset to drive profitable growth for our client’s expanding customer base.

Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Team Management
- Develop and execute comprehensive paid search strategies tailored to client objectives, ensuring alignment with broader marketing goals.
- Work alongside senior leadership to set campaign direction and performance benchmarks.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of performance marketers or analysts, providing feedback and support to foster continuous growth.
- Encourage a data-focused culture by advocating best practices and sharing insights on consumer behavior and performance marketing trends.
Campaign Management & Optimization
- Oversee the day-to-day planning, execution, and optimization of paid search campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads (Bing), GDN, and YouTube.
- Manage large-scale monthly budgets (e.g., $250K–$300K+) to drive profitable lead generation, ensuring campaigns remain on track for both spend and performance goals.
- Conduct regular account audits and create robust strategies for underperforming segments, implementing restructures, expansions, and optimizations where needed.
- Utilize advanced analytics, such as audience segmentation and bid management, to inform budget allocation and targeting strategies.
- Continuously run A/B tests to refine ad copy, landing pages, and bidding tactics for incremental gains in performance.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (creative, CRO, analytics) to ensure cohesive, integrated campaign strategies that improve overall results.
- Monitor industry developments and emerging trends, integrating new tactics or tools to stay ahead of market shifts.
- Assist in refining departmental processes, from onboarding new clients to rolling out updated campaign frameworks, to drive scalability.
Performance Reporting & Accountability
- Track and analyze key performance metrics, generating weekly and monthly reports that clearly outline insights, trends, and actionable recommendations.
- Report outcomes to senior leadership, maintaining accountability for results across your team’s portfolio of accounts.
- Champion transparency by setting clear performance expectations, sharing real-time updates, and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in paid search advertising, preferably in a performance-focused role.
- Proven success managing monthly budgets of $250,000+ in Google Ads (lead generation focus is preferred).
- Prior experience overseeing individual accounts with high monthly spend (e.g., $100K+), demonstrating the ability to sustain strong ROAS or similar performance metrics.
- Agency experience (3+ years) strongly preferred, with a track record of collaborating in cross-functional, fast-paced settings.
- Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor junior PPC team members (1+ year of direct leadership or supervisory experience ideal).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation to take ownership of results.
